Implementation

Implementation of  the Nuclear Skills Passport is an easy process and organisations will have the support and guidance of their Regional Manager, the Nuclear Skills Passport Manager and an IT helpdesk which will provide support throughout implementation and beyond.  Each organisation will be responsible for the implementation and roll out the Nuclear Skills Passport within their own organisation, this includes both on the technical requirements on an organisation in terms of implementation and the process requirements of implementing the Nuclear Skills Passport.  Implementation Guides are available from the Skills Academy for member organisations, to assist in this process.

For a copy of the implementation guides contact the Skills Academy - enquiries@nuclearskillspassport.co.uk

A summary of the Key Points include:-

  • To use the Nuclear Skills Passport, membership to the Skills Academy will be required (member/provider or individual).
  • Organisations will be required to commit to the Nuclear Skills Passport Company Charter for their workforce.  In addition, a Service Level Agreement will be put in place, which defines certain terms, conditions and protocols surrounding the operation of the Nuclear Skills Passport, for example, data protection and security requirements.
  • Baseline Standard Security Clearance will be required for all company users who have privileged access to records other than their own i.e. multiple records.

Consideration must also be made of:-

  • Communications – how to communicate this new initiative to all your employees and stakeholders within your organisation?
  • Processes and Procedures - which normal processes and procedures will be affected by the introduction of the Nuclear Skills Passport?
  • Training – who will require training to use the system within your own organisation?
