Technical Overview

Individual users will access their own records over the internet.  Other users who are required to view and edit records for their own organisation will require further security measures and will be issued with an RSASecureID token which will confirm their identity prior to being able to log onto the Nuclear Skills Passport IT application. A Secure Data Integration tool i.e. file transfer system, is available to enable organisations to transfer training records from existing training/HR systems for inclusion on the Skills Passport and vice versa electronically, provided they are in the format specified by the Skills Passport Application. A utility to convert the local file format of client HR systems to the Skills Passport IT application format will be required to be implemented by the client wishing to use the file transfer facility option.  Site Licensed Companies with Restricted Networks have the additional option of connecting directly to the Skills Academy Restricted Network (on which the Nuclear Skills Passport is being hosted) privately instead of over web.  Hardware /Software Requirements:-     Individual Users – No additional hardware or software required other than:-

  •      Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or 7 or Mozilla Firefox 2 with client side JavaScript enabled.
  •      Adobe Flash Player 9 for enhanced interface.

       Company Users/Administrators:-     As for Individual Users above and.

  • RSASecurID Token to prove identity prior to records access.
  • To Use File Transfer Function (Axway Tumbleweed Transport Edge.)  Users will require one of the following:-
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (6 or later).
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (6 or later) with ActiveX Browser Client.
  • Tumbleweed Secure Transport Windows Client (4.5.1 or later).
